Our Team

Douglas G. Schmitz:
Registered Representative.
Experience:
More than 20 years of experience helping individuals and business
owners make important financial decisions. Those decisions include
building assets for a comfortable retirement, planning for the
financing of children's education, managing financial risks,
and developing estate planning strategies for efficient and
cost effective transfers of assets involving multiple generations.
Areas of Specialty:
My two areas of specialty are Retirement Planning and Estate
Planning. I work with my clients to help them develop a planning
strategy that will have the flexibility to withstand the many
changes that come about in life.
Formal Education:
I hold a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Economics with
an emphasis in Finance from North Dakota State University,
and an Applied Science Degree from the University of Minnesota,
Crookston.
Personal:
I grew up on a farm in Northern Minnesota where I first learned
the meaning of DIVERSIFICATION, as we had dairy cattle, sheep,
hogs, and chickens. We also raised many different crops. I
went on to college and graduated from two universities. I
met my wife Rebekah in college, we married and now have four
children, three girls and a boy.
Successes:
One of the things I do best is help people through challenges
in life. As one of three partners in Financial Strategies
Group it is very rewarding for me to be a part of a team of
twelve individuals that are dedicated to serving our clients
needs. If I can do any thing for you do not hesitate to let
me know.
